Jacqueline Gilbertson holds an abiding belief that behind-the-scenes travel has the power to enrich one’s
sensibilities. Culture Capsules realizes her ultimate dream to share her passion for the authentic foreign
cultural experience. Jacqueline has enjoyed varied cultural pursuits. While living in Paris, she studied art
history at the Ecole du Louvre and played the harp at the Scuola Cantorum; at the Lorenzo di Medici School in
Florence, she learned to sculpt from the masters and refreshed her Italian; and, in New York, she studied decorative
arts at Sotheby’s, took drawing classes at the National Academy of Fine Arts, and improved her German at the Deutsche
Haus. It is no wonder that with such a breadth of interests, Jacqueline is a consummate world traveler. As an
international business executive with such companies as Max Factor, Neutrogena, Fred Hayman Beverly Hills and
Johnson & Johnson, she traveled to all corners of the world. From riding wild yaks in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia
to playing golf atop the mountains in Kashmir and play-acting the role of a geisha in Kyoto, Japan, she has always
celebrated the uncommon. Jacqueline’s love of the unusual began at an early age with her training in classical ballet
at the National Academy of Dance. Her formal education continued with multi-lingual studies at the University of
Wisconsin where she was awarded membership to Phi Beta Kappa and a Fulbright teaching scholarship in France. She
went on to receive her MBA in international business at the Wharton School. Jacqueline’s driving force has been her
insatiable curiosity, her romantic spirit, and her contagious joie de vivre. Her signature marks every Culture Capsule.
